Welcome to the Junior English Programme (JEP), taking place each summer in the magical surroundings of Oxford, UK. The JEP is a well-rounded, fun and exciting course for students aged 10-12 years.

Students improve all English skill areas including reading, writing, listening and speaking, through Oxford Royale Academy's unique interactive teaching style. Our teachers emphasize dynamic learning though the use of games and role-play to help students effectively master English using creative and engaging activities. Students are streamed by English proficiency and taught in small, fun groups by fully qualified tutors.

Outside of the classroom, students take part in a wide range of cultural, sporting, musical and theatrical activities, both in the grounds of the College and in the city. The programme also includes sightseeing tours to places of historic interest, such as Blenheim Palace, Broughton Castle and London.

4. Students and Staff

Students attend our programmes from all over the world. Making friends from other backgrounds and cultures is one of the best aspects of taking a programme with ORA.

Our teachers come from a variety of different backgrounds, some are teaching or have taught for the University of Oxford and some are well-established local tutors. Our experienced and welcoming faculty offers ORA students a diverse range of teaching specialties and skills. In addition, ORA Alumni students have rated the teaching as one of the best aspects of their experiences in Oxford, many reporting a perfect 10.

The Residential Director - who operates the day to day running of the programme - is assisted by a team of Student Counsellors. The Student Counsellors ensure that our students are looked after during their stay in Oxford. Students are able to talk informally and frankly with Student Counsellors in order to suggest ideas for excursions or to raise concerns. Many of the Student Counsellors are undergraduate students at the University of Oxford and they will know the city well.
