Kelly Ashworth Invitation Sets

Kelly Ashworth of Kelly Ashworth Design has designed limited edition invitation sets that are the best of both worlds: you get Kelly's designs at a DIY price! You assemble and print the invitations of course, but the genius is that you don't have to do the designing, shopping, measuring and cutting- often these are the tasks send DIY-ers right over the edge.

Kelly has been contemplating this idea for some time and I am so happy to see that she's gotten this product off the ground. She has so many great ideas and an eye for design that just kills me (in a good way of course!). Below are some of the invitations she's created. Visit her Etsy site for more info and to order!

A little experiment

In the constant search for unique items for events, I decided to search the online shopping network Etsy. This place is cool and a bit quirky for handmade items at reasonable prices- the arsty and creative bunch flourish here. There is an extensive process to be a seller on Etsy and I find that each seller has been conscientious and really helpful when I have asked about custom work.

The experiment? Here are some items I found when I typed in "wedding" in the search box. Enjoy!

For the Star Wars crowd- you know you're out there! www.cufflinks.etsy.com

I can't decide of this is cute or just silly. Maybe both. www.thebrickkiln.etsy.com

Ummm, for the deer hunters out there. Enough said.

Sorrily missed, Oakland Police Officers:

Morning at the Farm

After this last week and especially yesterday, the Bay Area needs to regain its equalibrium and start anew. Hopeful some good will come from the bad.

I am going to breakfast at Ardenwood and check out layouts for painting the new baby lambs and the colorful chickens. And the peacocks are so sassy now with their new spring outfits!

The chickens especially are a challenge to paint plein air since they can not seem to hold a pose for more than 30 seconds. The idea for close-ups is to sketch them in an interesting pose and fill in later. The light hitting their feathers is so beautiful! Hope to get the effect.

My grandson, Ben, is having his 8th birthday party today, so no time to paint. Happy Birthday, Ben!

"Along Davis Road," 30" x 40" oil on canvas

The variations of green pulled me to stop along this road. I took a photograph of this Spring scene and later created this landscape in my studio.

Hello

I'm sorry for blaming you...
For everything I just couldn't do…
And I've hurt myself by hurting you…
There's nothing I wouldn't do to hear your voice again…
Sometimes, I want to call you, but I know you won't be there…
It's hard to say goodbye when I

remember the good times we had spent together, and the beautiful future we had dreamt of...
Darling I never wanted to create a distance between us...
Please let us bridge the gaps...

S o r r y
again!

I'm sorry to be smiling every time you're near. I'm sorry my eyes twinkle whenever you're here. I'm sorry that cupid has made his hit. I'm sorry I love you, I can't help it.

SORRY Don't get confused, 'SORRY' means S - SOME O - ONE'S R - REALLY, R - REMEMBERING Y - YOU.

Gina's Challenge

I haven't done a "Gina's Challenge" in a while but this one appealed to me for some reason. Gina not only gave us this sketch but she also stipulated that the colours to be used were Choc Chip/Whisper White/Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink. These colours are apparently the colour scheme of the new house that Gina is building- very elegant!

Well I know the photo didn't turn out that great but these are the colours I used. The base card is Choc Chip and the "scallops" Close to Cocoa. The DSP panel is Afternoon Tea (retired) and the stamp set Oh So Lovely (also retired -Hostess) (Sorry I haven't got much new stuff yet ! )The pink if you can see it is behind the flower image and the sentiment. The sentiment is from a new stamp set-"Fresh Cuts" I could not quite manage the spots/pattern on the base card-I did try but I'm a "Clean and Simple" kind of stamper and it just looked too fussy for my liking!

Hello Again!!

It's been such a long time since I have posted..... or even stamped !! - Life has gotten a bit complicated lately .....

Anyway my Dad is having his 91st birthday on Tuesday and I could not let such an important birthday go by without making a special card for him. He is moving to a Nursing Home on Wednesday so it is a bit of a sad time for our family. Still we know he will be getting the care he needs there and it is time for my Mum to have a well deserved rest too....

This card uses... DSP Wintergreen (retiring) Cardstock...Sage Shadow/Always Artichoke..Stamps Carte Postale (retiring) Jumbo eyelets Twill ribbon

Workshop on Biblical Health Care and Ethics

We live in a vast - needy - amazing country of India - and have the wonderful opportunity to make a real and lasting change - for eternity.

How can we see Health Care guided by the wonderful word of God - the Bible - take root in our own practice?

How can we make truly ethical decisions when all around us our medical peers are engaged in active corruption (some) and passive indifference (almost everyone else)?

How can my life as a doctor make a difference the grand scheme of things?

We are deeply privileged to have Dr. Chris Steyns join us for a special 3 day seminar on Biblical Health Care and Ethics. Dr. Chris leads the Health-Care Christian Fellowship and has many years of experience in following Jesus in his medical work across the globe.

TELEPHONE: 011-26847159

Bead-therapy

A priceless collection...

As I decided to share all the information that I find regarding beading and beadwork, I will continue to do so today...
Here you will find a priceless information and tutorial collection, that you will surely appreciate !
Thank you for this collection, dear Candy, even we don't know each other !
Have a nice weekend, everybody !

A few words for my beady journal…
I bought some new beads and now I’m waiting for the inspiration’s strike.
Here’s a sample :

The lack of time means lack of inspiration. After work, I did a little bead-therapy, but that's it - no serious evolution... The weekend will be busy, I hope !
And what have we here ? The result of the bead-therapy : a crooked beaded bead...

Privlige by: Kate Brian

This will be my first book review for you all so I hope you enjoy.

In this new series, Kate Brian explains how Ariana Osgood, the former Billings girl who got charged for murder, lives and escapes a mental hospital. Then it tells of her adventures on getting revenge with her cell mates best friend. This book was a thriller! I couldn't put it down! It is suggested for people who have read all of the published Private series books, and for people who are over 13 for language and crime. I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did!

Until next time-Christine

March Style Tips

1)Wild colors are super fun exspecially with mini skirts and dresses. Add a cute long and colorful top to your outfit and you are set to look fantastic.

See how it just blends in. I love it!

They keep coming out with more and more colors. The more colors there are the more outfits it goes with.

I love long shirts. They can be so fun and they just work and as a plus are super comfy.

2)Okay so as the weather gets warmer and summer nears everyone is loking for the new cut. Short and straight won the contest so enjoy your new look.

3)Even though winter is leaving and spring is on its way, scarves still seem to have all the rage as they did in winter. Now they are thin and small pieces of colorful material to finish your everyday outfits.

4)Flats and Flip-Flops and super fun and extremely comfy for long days. They come in tons of colors and loads of different styles.
